The Department of Aviation, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, is an undergraduate program that aims to train a qualified workforce and managers suited to the rapidly growing and developing global aviation sector, which holds strategic importance. Our department offers comprehensive training in the management, planning, operations, and strategic decision-making processes of the aviation industry. It also offers advanced foreign language skills and a curriculum that provides strategic contributions across a wide range of sectors, from safety and operational efficiency to customer satisfaction and financial performance, while equipping students with statistical competencies.
The curriculum is meticulously designed to equip our students with a comprehensive understanding of the complex nature of the aviation industry, enabling them to participate effectively in it. Thus, our graduates will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to stay current with developments and generate innovative solutions. They will also possess professional competencies and be aware of their social and ethical responsibilities, thereby becoming leaders and managers with the potential to make a positive impact in the aviation sector. The program's duration is five years, with the first year consisting of foreign language instruction. After completing a one-year English preparatory course, our students take 4 hours of Aviation English each semester. 30% of the curriculum is taught in English, and a second foreign language can be taken as an elective course.
Upon completion of our program, our graduates will:
- Following English preparatory classes, students will acquire sufficient foreign language proficiency through eight semesters of English language instruction.
- They will have received instruction in a second language other than English.
- They will have taken courses that will support their professional careers and enhance their competency.
- They will hold globally recognized certifications (First Aid, Quality Management, Presentation Techniques, Diction and Effective Speaking, Global Understanding, etc.).
Our graduates will be well-equipped to work in various fields, including private/public airlines, airports, ground handling companies, catering companies, cargo companies, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, and airline training companies. Furthermore, the rapid developments, increasing demand, and international growth in the aviation sector will offer our graduates a variety of career opportunities abroad.
